About

prosaic is a directory for writing competitions and submissions that pay you for your work.

As a new writer, it can be difficult to discover where you can earn some noodle money while you master your craft. These publications offer just that, a way for you to get your pen on the page.

Our rules for selection criteria are simple: We try to find every writing magazine, contest, and newsletter that's currently accepting submissions for pay. If we're missing something, let us know! The only thing we won't do is artificially promote specific publications - we sort first on open submissions, deadlines, and name (apologies if your magazine is named Zenith's Zine or something... you had to know what you were doing). We update our listings every week and at the start of the month, but we might still miss things, and if we do, let us know again!

Just remember, it's the writer's responsibility to check the rules of the place they're submitting to. And if you find somebody acting out of line... let.us.know.

Keep scribbling, scribes.
